Design Concept
Jat21 Arkitekt was commissioned to design a multi-generational family home that prioritises seamless indoor-outdoor living while maintaining a clear functional hierarchy across three levels. The resulting design is a modern, light-filled sanctuary tailored to the needs of a growing family.
Level 1: Foundation and Privacy
The ground floor serves as the functional anchor of the home. It features a spacious two-car garage, integrated into the main structure with a clean, minimalist facade. This level also houses the master suite, strategically placed on the first floor to offer the heads of the household a private retreat away from the more social upper levels. Large glass partitions ensure the room feels connected to the surrounding greenery.
Level 2: The Social Core
Ascending to the second floor, the layout transitions into a vibrant communal hub. One wing is dedicated to a fluid, open-concept kitchen and TV corner, designed for daily interaction and casual relaxation. The opposite wing provides a quiet zone for the rest of the family, containing:
Three additional bedrooms
A shared family bathroom
A defining feature of this level is the expansive wrap-around balcony, which extends the living space outdoors and allows for natural cross-ventilation throughout the sleeping quarters and the kitchen.
